Is it possible to put ram from a hp laptop into a sony vaio laptop?
I have a old sony vaio i just pulled out after like 3-4 years, And my old hp laptops cords short circuited So i am wondering if i can take the ram, Or memory out of it and put it into the sony vaio. Thanks Thanks for the answers, Ill get right to that.

Yes and No. The Ram must be compaitable with the Sony. go to crucial.com and run the scanner program, It will tell you what Ram(TYPE) you have installed and the maxium you can install. Copare this to the Ram from your HP. If they are the same you are good to go. If not, just but some new Ram. They are very cheap now.

Perhaps. In general, laptops of the same vintage used pretty much the same type memory, but you'll want to check both your HP and Sony laptop specs to make sure they use the same type of memory. Probably DDR2 from 3-4 years ago.
