how do you make a CPU fan run always in a sony vaio cs series?

how do you make a CPU fan run always in a sony vaio cs series?
I have a sony vaio cs series laptop which automatically shuts down. I was told it is the CPU fan which is not cooling the laptop effectively. I would like to know how to set the CPU fan to run continuously to prevent it to heat up and shut down unexpectedly. I am not a heavy user and use my laptop for surfing/email and regular usage only. May laptops' 2 yrs old.

It is not good for your computer fan to always be running it would collect a lot of dust and take a lot of power/ sometimes lag your computer. You could always clean your computer or cpu fan by taking it apart or giving it to a professional to clean. I am able to take apart my laptop easily and clean the fans myself to prevent heating.

I had the same problem with my laptop. I bought a can of air and sprayed through all the venting areas, one will be the fan too. It cooled it for me. Then I went and got an inexpensive cooling fan. I don't use it now because I just spray the fan vent out every once in a while.Have had no problems sense. Good Luck

you cannot, unless you change your CPU fan.. or better yet buy a laptop cooling pad. it will help you keep your laptop cool.

see if you can find a refurbished one

Even if it's been discontinued, some electronics stores may have some left over. If they don't have any, try refurbished computer stores. If that still doesn't work, check out eBay. They're bound to have one.

You can search Ebay, TigerDirect.ca(or .com) Newegg.ca(.com) or any online site, they usually have more stock than a store and have things a little longer. once it's Discontinued though, it's while quantities last so Ebay might be ur best choice and it will most likely be second hand... On the plus side though, Sony does make great products, though the main issue with their laptops(and a couple other things) is they are over priced, you can get an identical laptop for 200-300 less in a lot of cases. and tigerdirect has a large selection of inexpensive Vaio

usually you need to remove the 1 or 2 screws at the left hand side of the speakers, then slide this panel about 1/2 inch to the right and remove the retainer screw behind the F6 key. After that the keyboard should slide up and out.

Black screen on Sony Vaio Desktop

How to get rid of black screen on Sony Vaio Desktop. Can anyone help?
My sony vaio computer restarted unexpectedly and its at a screen that suggests different ways of restarting my computer. Some examples are safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, and restart windows normally. I've tried them all but after the Windows XP loader is done the screen turns black without a cursor. Can anyone please help me?

Your operating system is corrupted somehow. If you have a Windows disk, boot to that disk. (You may have to go into bios to temporarily change the boot order to the cd.) Then boot to the Windows disk and tell it to do a Repair. If you have disks that came with the computer, but are not Windows disks, then you want to try to do the same basic thing. You want to do a repair or restore of the operating system, without wiping the disk by formatting or over-writing your own files. If all else fails, you may need to do a restore to the factory-fresh state. Before doing that and losing all your stuff that is on the computer, there are two things that you can try to do. One is to borrow someone else's Windows disk and do a Repair - do NOT do an install, just a repair! The other is to move your disk to another computer as a slave drive and copy off all your files that are important to you. If you don't have anything of value that you care to save, you can just do a complete reinstallation of the factory disks (either came with your computer or you made when it was new) preferably after formating the hard drive.
