Does sony vaio e series work without a battery?
i always have my dell inspiron 1520 plugged in and charging all the time for optimal performance but natrally this damages the battery. I know it works on dell but for xmas when i get my new sony vaio e series, will the laptop function without a battery but just running straight of the mains like a desktop?

Yes all lap tops will run on just the power adapter charger with or with out the battery installed. It hurts nothing to leave the battery installed and to use it on the power adapter 24/7 as it only maintains the battery at full charge and does not use power from the battery while plugged in with the power adapter. All my lap tops stay plugged in 24/7 except on occasion when need to carry one with me and have never had a problem even on one that is 7 years old.
